I have worked within secondary education for twenty years as a teacher and currently as a Student Support Worker. I believe that the emotional well-being of students is the key to academic success and this role enables me to help remove barriers to learning.
Student Support Worker (SSW) – Harriet Snell
Previous to joining Huish Episcopi Academy I worked as a Family Support Worker. Before that I worked as a Nanny for 5 years. I feel I am rapidly gaining a great deal of experience as a Student Support Worker and am enjoying working with students and supporting individuals in achieving their very best.
Parent Family Support Worker (PFSA) – Claire Kelly
I have worked as a PFSA for the past eight years and supported Huish Episcopi Academy for the last six years. Previous to this I have worked with Children in Care. I thoroughly enjoy working with students and parents and helping families to overcome any challenges that they might be facing in life. The role of PFSA is a very rewarding one.
Attendance Officer – Ali Powell
I have been the attendance officer at Huish Episcopi Academy for over seven years. I meet with a range of professionals to support all attendance issues and what support can be put in place to enable all students to attend the Academy on a regular basis. I also work in the main student reception dealing with a range of enquiries from, parents and students as well as co-ordinating after school detentions.
Director of Student Services – J Merrick-Wren
I have worked at Huish Episcopi for over fourteen years. My first role was in the Science Department as a teacher of Science with additional responsibilities as a Head of Year. I am currently Assistant Principal with responsibility for pastoral matters at the Academy, including Behaviour and Attendance. I can usually be found in my office adjacent to the Student Services Hub at the front of the school.
