Message from the Principal

This year's exams season has been like no other in living memory.  The Year 11 and Year 13 students at Huish have had to deal with an extraordinary set of events compounded by confusion and last minute policy changes by exam boards, Ofqual and the government.  Throughout this difficult time though, they have conducted themselves with maturity and dignity.  The decision to use Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) or the adjusted Ofqual grade - if higher - for A levels and GCSEs was the right decision and has resulted in many excellent results for our students.  The suspension of accountability measures and league tables this year means we will not be publishing whole school data, but will instead be celebrating the success of each student individually.  These are their grades and thoroughly deserved.

So, I would like to congratulate the 2020 Year 11 and Year 13 cohorts on their fantastic results and wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their learning journey, be it at Huish Sixth Form, at college, on an apprenticeship or in employer-based training.  Good luck for the future and remember - once Huish, always Huish.

Mr Chris Wade

Principal
