Overview

The OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity is a vocational qualification that combines academic study with practical application. Students develop a broad understanding of the sport and physical activity sector through the study of anatomy and physiology, coaching, sports development, performance analysis and injury rehabilitation. The course is designed to prepare students for higher education, apprenticeships and employment within the sport, fitness, health and leisure industries.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs Grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths and Grade 4 or above in GCSE PE or a Merit in a Level 2 Sport qualification.

A keen interest in sport and physical activity is essential. Regular participation in sport, coaching or leadership activities is desirable.

The qualification is assessed through a mixture of externally examined units and internally assessed coursework, allowing students to demonstrate both theoretical understanding and practical application.
