Teaching and Curriculum: Embedding Careers into Learning
All our teachers actively integrate careers education into their subject areas, helping students develop essential employability skills alongside academic knowledge. Staff have access to a wide range of careers-related resources including Unifrog.
Teachers are encouraged to enhance their curriculum by:
- Creating prominent displays that link subject content and skill development to a variety of career pathways.
 - Building partnerships with local businesses and organisations to enrich learning experiences.
 - Inviting alumni and guest speakers to share real-world insights and inspire students.
 - Organising external visits to local employers where appropriate, to provide students with first-hand industry exposure.
 - Documenting careers learning within schemes of work to ensure consistency and progression.
 - Incorporating information on different career routes, such as apprenticeships, university pathways, sector-specific opportunities, salary expectations, and career progression.
 - Actively participating in whole-school careers events, such as the Careers Fair, by engaging with exhibitors and linking their subject area to the world of work.
 - Promoting inclusivity by addressing and challenging career stereotypes related to gender, race, and disability, and ensuring all students see themselves represented in future opportunities.
