School Visits and Residentials

We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our extensive programme of trips, visits, and enrichment opportunities is designed to develop students' character, broaden their horizons, and provide memorable life experiences that inspire ambition, resilience, and respect. Through these opportunities, students build confidence, independence, teamwork, leadership skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Residential experiences are a key part of our character education journey. Students have the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting and challenging visits throughout their time at the academy, including the Year 7 Camp, Year 8 Bude Residential, and the adventurous Year 9 Pyrenees Expedition. Older students can participate in our highly popular Ski Trips for Years 11, 12 and 13, as well as international educational visits to destinations such as Iceland, China, Berlin, and Munich, providing unique cultural, historical, and geographical learning experiences.

Alongside residentials, students benefit from a wide range of educational visits and workshops that support their academic and career aspirations. These include university visits, careers events, employer encounters, and specialist educational workshops that help students explore future opportunities and make informed decisions about their next steps.

We also recognise and celebrate students who consistently demonstrate our core values through our extensive rewards programme. Every year, students enjoy popular reward experiences such as ice skating, bowling, and outdoor adventure activities. In addition, our prestigious Golden Ticket Rewards Trips provide exceptional experiences for students who have gone above and beyond in embodying our values. Previous Golden Ticket destinations have included Longleat Safari Park, the Natural History Museum in London, the Eden Project, theatre visits to see Wicked and The Lion King, Harry Potter World, AirHop, and many more.

These experiences are an integral part of life at Huish Episcopi Academy. They help students create lifelong memories, develop essential character strengths, and gain the confidence, knowledge, and experiences needed to thrive both within school and beyond.
